The Burgundian Bresse is a large hilly plain, huddled up between the
foothills of Jura in the East, the Doubs in the North and the Saône in the West.
Its distinguished by its grove, its cereals cultures, its woods.
Many ponds and rivers are scattered over Bresse and enjoy fishers of carps, pikes, zanders, black bass
or silurids...
The most important river, the Seille, which is navigable along 39 km between Louhans and
La Truchère, has its source in the foothills of Jura before crossing the Burgundian
Bresse with its calm and winding water flow.

Boating
through the four locks, you will admire meadows with a very particular kind of fauna and
flora whose some of them are protected.
To be better acquainted with the different natural environments of Bresse and Burgundy,
visitors will be able to go to the Eden Centre
in Cuisery and to the Natural Reserve of La
Truchère-Ratenelle. |
