In 1937, Romenay represented local French traditions at the Paris International Exposition. Today's museum, drawing from this experience, showcases local archeology, traditional construction techniques, local customs, the reconstitution of a typical interior and the history of Bresse poultry.

More time to spend exploring...?

Before awakening your senses along the trails in the  Réserve Naturelle de la Truchère-Ratenelle listening to the calls of the Genet or the Eurasian curlew, prolong your visit to Romenay by stopping at a curious house in the village centre called the maison penchée, welcoming artists of all types (painters, sculptors, stonecutters, etc.) who take advantage of this original location to display their work. Then continue on to the Moulin of Montjay in Ménetreuil, where you can learn all about mill operation.
