Not far from Louhans, Saint Germain du Bois is famous for its traditional country fairs.

On foot, on horseback or on a mountain bike, the "green routes" will take you through fields and woods to reveal architectural curiosities such as the crooked belfry in Mervans, craftsmen working with wood in Devrouze and with metal in Saint Germain du Bois, organic cattle raisers in Frangy en Bresse, or one of the oldest fairs in France, the Foire de la Balme in Bouhans. |
The Bresse Bourguignonne area flourished thanks to wheat and corn. The outbuilding at the Maison Collinet houses an exhibit describing the evolution of farming equipment, from animal to mechanical traction. Workshops linked to the use of animal traction, such as the blacksmith's or the saddlery, are reconstituted.
