            Varennes Saint Sauveur has preserved its old coaching inn : a two-story building with cross-shaped roof sections and flat tiles that most probably were made in one of the three former tileries in the area.

THE TILERY

            This 17th century building, a registered historical monument, is a perfect illustration of pre-industrial architecture in Bresse. Interior signage indicates six workstations presented to the public by one of the last witnesses to the activity of this tilery.
